Insurance Assurance and Technical Support

With new BSI standard BS AU 242b:2022 now published the Insurance industry has the assurance of a 4M national register of windscreen repair technicians. From the point of publication the windscreen industry will enter a transition period for one year where by accredited assessment and training will need to be undertaken by those windscreen repair companies registering as being compliant to BS au 242b:2022. The Windscreen Safety Council has as a trade organisation started a process of inviting insurance companies to support the British Windscreen Safety Council in adopting the very latest BSI standards.

Council Assurance

The new WSC 4M register will ensure that all those companies and individuals who carry out windscreen repairs on an insured vehicle are trained, competent and compliant to the new British Standard BS AU 242b: 2022. Acting as the industry registration scheme to deliver compliance on behalf of the insurance claims service.

4M Register

4M registration will allow only trained and competent windscreen repair technicians to repair windscreen damage within BS AU 242b:2022 parameters. The new standards requirements should reduce windscreen claim downtime and avoid unnecessary windscreen disturbance and ADAS calibration for the benefit of the vehicle owner.

Safety is everything with 4M being the official registration scheme for all windscreen companies aspiring to deliver the best outcomes to the insurance industry.The Council will move forward with registration requirements ensuring the Insurance industry is serviced by registered, compliant, 4M trained and competent windscreen repair techs.
