Accredited 4M Technicians

A windscreen repair technician can only be aligned the Council having supplied evidence of an accredited training course which includes an assessed outcome. Evidence of competence relates only to matters of windscreen repair and replacement and is obtained by every technician undertaking a recognised route of accredited training and assessment to enable them to claim compliance to BS au 242b:2022

ADAS Safety

(ADAS) Advanced Driver Assistance Systems and (HUD) Heads Up Display are safety systems designed to work together to automate and enhance vehicle safety.  Repairing windscreen stone damage is a service to be undertaken by technicians who have been assessed and formally qualified. BSI have recognised the importance of windscreen technology advancements with publication of BS AU 242b:2022

The Panel

The British Windscreen Safety Council (Trade Organisation)  is made up of a panel of the UK's industry experts and companies. For over two years working as a BSI panel, members came together to support the project which resulted in the publication of BS AU 242:2022 in March 2022.
The Council offers a national accreditation register for all windscreen repair technicians and companies who are compliant to BS AU 242b:2022
